For those impacted, it\u2019s important to remember: your Medicare eligibility remains secure. If your Medicare Advantage plan isn\u2019t renewed and you don\u2019t select a new one, you\u2019ll generally transition back to Original Medicare. There\u2019s a specific enrollment window\u2014starting in early Q4 and running into mid-Q4\u2014with plan changes going into effect in early Q1. If you choose to switch to Original Medicare, you\u2019ll have a special Medigap window that opens 60 days before your coverage ends and closes no more than 63 days after. When reviewing your options, pay close attention to whether your doctors and hospitals are included, as well as formularies, copays, deductibles, and your maximum out-of-pocket costs. Sometimes a $0 premium brings hidden tradeoffs. Free and unbiased guidance is available through state programs, and checking your choices with Medicare or a trusted adviser can help prevent gaps in your coverage.
